I started shooting 35mm film in the summer of 2019. My first camera was a used minolta x370 which I had mistakenly bought thinking it was the x700. Since it only cost around 40 dollars at the time, I decided against returning it and just used it anyways. The stock I used was ektar 100 because it was the best cheap option I could afford for buying multiple rolls at a time. I got about 3 rolls for 16 dollars on ebay and just spent the summer taking a bunch of pictures of wherever I walked to that day. Two of the rolls were ruined by sunlight exposure, leaving only a couple frames salvageable. The third roll was actually kind of good, since by then I had already gotten the hang of using the camera and choosing the correct ISO and whatnot. Since then, I've picked up a few other cameras, the most interesting being a Lubitel 2 twin reflex camera. It has a really quirky over-under pair of lenses and a top down viewfinder. Those Russians sure know how to make a statement piece, I'll say that. I shot one roll of 120mm film with it, but it's not really my thing, plus 120 gets really fucking expensive. At nearly 50 dollars per roll (the film + developing + scans), you gotta act broke to stay rich.
